Treating Injuries: Experience Makes the Difference
Dr. Gil Coleman has 30 years of experience treating Fort Collins whiplash injuries, neck pain, and soft tissue injuries from car accidents. We carefully evaluate and diagnose whiplash and auto injuries, and differentiate injury to ligaments, muscles, nerves, bones and other soft tissues. Before any whiplash or other injury-related treatment begins, we determine the exact problem that needs attention based on a thorough consultation and examination. We are experts at understanding the mechanism of how injuries occur. We are not your typical chiropractic or medical office. We help people in Northern Colorado including Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor recover and heal from whiplash with effective treatment. We are known best for our attention to detail and paying personal attention to each and every patient in our office. This allows us to serve each person more comfortably.
Making Your Life Easy – No Stress Insurance Payments and Billing
In nearly all cases when the accident victim has medical payments coverage, patients pay nothing at the time of service because insurance companies cover 100% of our services. By taking away the stress of not having to pay out of pocket for unexpected medical bills, we can help you feel better and recover from your injuries and pain. Our office will work directly with your auto insurance carrier and file claims for you.

How Injuries Happen
The average human head weighs 14-16 lbs – about the weight of a bowling ball. When the force if impact on a vehicle is transmitted to the occupant, the head and neck move violently backward, forward and often backwards again on a rear end collision. This “whipping” motion often causes damage to ligaments, muscles, tendons and nerves. In severe cases of high force, bones can be broken.
There has been much research on what is known as LOSRIC injuries or “Low Speed Rear End Collisions”. In a practical sense, the fender bender in the parking lot at the mall or grocery store at 5 MPH can cause whiplash! Hard to believe but true. Faster speeds most often result in worse injuries but not always. The 16 lb weight and size of the head sit on top of small bones in the neck that are only about 2 inches in size. This becomes a vulnerable area to injury when the neck and head are subject to multiple “G-forces”.

Peace of Mind
Your automobile insurance company is required by Colorado law to offer you medical payments coverage for car accident whiplash treatment. Here are some quick facts you need to know:
- Medical payment coverage becomes your primary form of insurance coverage.
- Eliminates high deductible health insurance.
- You are free to go to any doctor or hospital of your choice without referral or authorization.
- Medical payments coverage protects you and any person in your vehicle at the time of the accident.
- Traditional Health insurance coverage is used only after your auto policy limits have been exhausted.
- And lastly, medical payments coverage is INEXPENSIVE.
A ride in an ambulance, helicopter flight, or emergency room visit can eat through 10’s of thousands of dollars in covered benefits in a split second! Chiropractic services while much less expensive than emergency services, are a covered benefit on your insurance policy.
